Discover the Artists
Alex Brassart works with images from films, documentaries, and found materials, exploring the intangible and the underlying in his paintings. His work invites an ongoing dialogue between image, past, and viewer.
Cas Reynders is rooted in authentic craftsmanship and the use of local materials. His designs are pure, timeless creations that bridge tradition and contemporary design, with a deep appreciation for cultural heritage.
Edo Maas turned from cycling to art in 2021. From his Antwerp studio, he creates sculptures that capture raw human emotion in a personal yet universal language.
Jean De Groote is often called the “painter of silence.” He isolates simple, everyday objects from their context and distills them to their essence, evoking a meditative atmosphere in his still lifes.
Orlando Gruwez explores the boundaries between language, image, and concept. His work is a continuous search for new forms of expression that connect thought and feeling.
Randoald Sabbe intertwines history, language, and symbolism in his art, exploring the ambiguity and layered nature of meaning. His works invite reflection and a deeper dialogue between past and present.
Emile Desweemer creates collage-like paintings that merge abstraction and figuration into evocative memories, playfully visualising heavy themes such as mourning, pain and acceptance, while enveloping the viewer in a melancholic and ominous atmosphere.
Together, these artists form the beating heart of our gallery, where space and art enhance one another, inviting visitors to discover and connect.

Experiencing Art in a Remarkable Bakery Setting
Gallery in the Bakery brought together seven contemporary artists in a bakery. The specific architecture of this place served as the starting point: a space dedicated to production and craftsmanship was reimagined as a context for artistic imagination. Each of the artists responded to the layered character of this environment, exploring how their work related to the materiality, rhythms, and symbolism of the bakery. The result was an exhibition in which place and practice became intertwined, and the familiar took on a new meaning.
The bakery offered a distinctive setting with characteristic spaces such as the cold store and the oven, thoughtfully integrated into the exhibition concept. This combination of art and location created an interactive dialogue in which space and art enhanced one another. An immersive experience that drew 750 visitors through its doors.
